Found a lab that interests you? Here's what you can do to apply:

Check to see if the Principle Investigator(s) for the lab you're interested in mentions ways in which you can apply for their lab.

If they do:

  • Take the steps mentioned on their lab website to apply for their lab

If they don't, here's a common approach to applying:

  • Prepare a cover letter, resume, unofficial transcript, as well as a formally typed-out email to send to the P.I.(s) and/or mentor(s) of the lab you're interested in. In the formal email, show your interest in their lab.

  • After completing this, when the P.I. or mentor gets back to you, take the next steps they want you to take. Usually, they ask you to interview!

  • If you're confused about starting your cover letter and/or resume, go check out the "Resumes & Related Material" section under the resources tab!
